Saleen Reveals "Most Powerful Production Mustang", powered by a 544kW blown V8

This is the Saleen S302 Black Label Mustang. Saleen have worked Ford's supercharged 5.0-litre V8 hard, adding a twin-screw supercharger, high-flow fuel-injectors and a tweaked ECU to take power from the standard Mustang GT's 303kW/525Nm to a tyre-shredding 544kW/812Nm. That's 730 ponies and 600 lb-ft of torque which they say will propel the Mustang over the quarter-mile in less than 11 seconds, it should be good for low 10s.

The Saleen S302 Black Label Mustang also benefits from revised suspension "that is equally fit for the street and track" says the US tuner. There are also new callipers and 20-inch five-spoke rims.

The bonnet features a central scoop and twin vents to improve cooling while a new grill gives the vehicle a sinister look. At the back there's a new carbon-fibre rear splitter, and new side skirts are also fitted.

Inside, it gets new Alcantara upholstery for the sport seats, a new instrument cluster, Saleen floor mats and plenty of other customisation including individually-numbered build plates.

With a pricetag of $US73,214 ($A93,165) in the US I think it's money well spent. "You simply cannot get a vehicle with this much power, style, performance, and exclusivity anywhere in the world at such a good value," stated Steve Saleen. "Except from us."

Galpin Auto Sports (GAS) and Henrik Fisker Have Built A 725hp Monster Mustang Called "The Rocket"

The Galpin Auto Sports (GAS) and Henrik Fisker built "Rocket" is one of the best looking mustangs you will see. The glass is shared with the cars that roll off Ford assembly lines, but the vast majority of the body is unique and formed—with the exceptions of the doors and the roof—from carbon fiber. There’s an elongated hood with two massive intakes, a carbon-fiber hexagonal grille, re-sculpted fenders, a new decklid with integrated rear spoiler, and a beefy rear diffuser. Everything, Galpin and Fisker say, is intended to channel airflow for cooling or downforce needs.

Now for the nitty gritty, the changes include a fully adjustable suspension and a Whipple supercharger displacing 2.9 liters on the V-8, which now makes a menacing 725 horsepower. The brakes are 15-inch Brembo all around, with the back pair being cooled through new air inlets cut into the rear fenders. Twenty-one-inch wheels wear Pirelli P Zero rubber.
